Nine civil society organizations for the protection and promotion of human rights gathered in an ad hoc coalition to make a comprehensive report on the state of human rights in the Republic of Croatia. The members of this coalition have significant experience in joint work in the field of monitoring and reporting on the state of human rights. The Human Rights House Zagreb, one of the seven centres of knowledge for social development, coordinated the report preparation.

Other members of the coalition were members of the Human Rights House – Zagreb; B.a.B.e. Budi Aktivan, Budi Emancipiran; the Centre for Peace Studies; Documenta – Centre for Dealing with the Past; Civic Committee for Human Rights; Sunrise – Association for Protection and Promotion of Mental Health; the Association of Promotion of Equal Opportunities and the partner organisations Serbian Democratic Forum and the Association for Self-Advocacy with the support of Human Rights House Foundation from Geneva.

The report was made for the UN mechanism Universal Periodic Review, i.e. for the 22th session of the UN Human Rights Council dedicated to Croatia. The report provides an estimate of the status of implementation of the 80 recommendations sent to Croatia during the first Universal Periodic Cycle, as well as new advice about further implementation of the 80 original recommendations.
