The national conference “Establishing the system of access to information advice and active help” took place in Belgrade on 12-13 September 2013. The conference was organised by the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights – YUCOM in order to present the experiences and the challenges in the field of Access to information, Advice and Active help and propose possible
policies solutions in these areas. The conference encouraged greater cooperation and coordination of the activities of public institutions, civil society and international community in order to improve the realization and protection of serbian citizens’ rights. The collegues from Law Centres Network in London presented their experience with the system of providing free legal aid in UK while YUCOM presented the results of a research to support citizens conducted in Serbia with the participation of local self-governments, NGOs and legal clinics.

The conference was attended by representatives of various legal aid providers, relevant stakeholders, Serbian ministries, World Bank, UNDP, EU delegation and foreign embassies.
