Report on the State of Human Rights in the Republic of Croatia

Nine civil society organizations for the protection and promotion of human rights gathered in an ad hoc coalition to make a comprehensive report on the state of human rights in the Republic of Croatia. The members of this coalition have significant experience in joint work in the field of monitoring and reporting on the state of human rights. The Human Rights House Zagreb, one of the seven centres of knowledge for social development, coordinated the report preparation.

The new law on free legal aid, NN 143/13, which entered into force on 1st January 2014, has expanded the scope of legal advice in all areas of the law. Nevertheless, the free legal aid system is still not in force in Croatia.
